Who Knew?

Collecting coins makes money for the government.

I was indifferent to the news of Arianna Huffington's celebrity-studded blog idea but everywhere I turn, I find people gushing over the idea.

Fortunately, I found a palate-cleanser in the U.K. In the Guardian, someone's doing a little mocking.

I'll officially not gush. How much of that blog is going to be ghost written? People like Cronkhite and Schlesinger are going to be worth reading no matter what form they take up, but the rest of it.... sounds like "Blogspot of the rich and famous" to me.

I'd go a long way to read Cronkite but if I have to wade through reams of celebri-babble?

Yeah, well, there's always the "search the archive once a week" option. I can't figure out if it's really going to be one big blog, or if it's going to be a blog hosting site, or some combination thereof (like Daily Kos).

That's true. Much depends upon the format.

And, of course, it's elitist and rude of me to assume that just because someone is a celebrity, they can't have intelligent, insightful opinions.
