Naughty, naughty

Those of us listening to NPR this morning heard the story (here at Newsday) that Italy has issued arrest warrants for 13 people accused of participating in one of our 'kidnap the terrorist' schemes.

Seems that a 'suspected terrorist' named Abu Omar was kidnapped in Italy and they don't appreciate us breaking the law on their soil.

Investigators traced the agents through check-in details at Milan hotels and their use of Italian cell phones during the operation, the reports said. All the agents are American and include three women, Il Giorno said.

The reports said another six agents were being investigated for helping prepare the operation.

There's also talk about some or all of the 'agents' being CIA and one being an ex-USofA Consulate employee.

Anyhow, I don't know if the guy is a terrorist or not, of course, but I thought that just walking into another country and kidnapping people was going to get us into trouble.
