Sexism in Pharmacies

John in DC has a point. (Link fixed.)

In fact, he has several good points as do most people speaking out on this issue. If you're not willing to do a job, you shouldn't accept the position and this is pure sexual discrimination.

I've always shopped at Target for those pesky but necessary household items (paper towels, light bulbs, batteries, etc.) in preference to either of the big -Mart stores. Now I'm reluctant to hand them any more of my money. I may have to....but...wait!

I get it!

Wimmin: No marital intercourse without the marital and no squishing the fruits thereof.

Men, married, single, etc.: Have some viagra! And we got a special on condoms and lube today, so stock up!

So just who are all of those guys all lubed up and raring to do supposed to be intercoursing with? Excluding the man-on-dog crowd, it has to be each other.

By gosh, there is a Sekrit Homoseckshul Agenda, and it's on the Right!

That's enough for me. I'm going to go read a book.

We don't have a Target to target. I have a vague recollection, though, that one of the red company/blue company lists that came out right after the election had Target as a Dem-friendly site. Oh, well.

(p.s. your link is to the comments page instead of the post)

That's true. Target did appear on the list of Dem-friendly donators, although if I remember correctly, it wasn't by much and the most recent chitchat is around the founder's very right-leaning donations.

I think the bottom line is that we can't focus on where individuals choose to donate their money when it comes to judging the actions of corporations. We have to focus on what the corporations do.

And I'm of two minds as to whether or not any slight ripple effect from a boycott by a thousand or so bloggers around the country will be noticed or of concern to management.

Bottom line? People have to shop at Target, or K-Mart, or WalMart, because they can't afford to buy a lot of life's essentials otherwise. As long as Those In Power can keep a lot of the population poor and scared and focused on their next meal, they'll have the freedom to pretty much dictate what policies will actually govern our lives...not in the legislative sense but in the sense of the way the Average Person lives on a daily basis.

(I feel a rant coming on...but I'll spare you.)
