Voting. A lot of people don't. If you're wondering why not, consider the idea that it's because their votes don't really matter.

My father proposed (among other people) breaking up the state-wide electoral votes, so that electoral college votes reflected popular votes by House District (and in a rational world, those would be non-partisan population centers, not gerrymandered "safe seats), with the extra two votes going to the statewide majority winner.

Actually, almost anything would be better. The amazing thing is that turnout hasn't declined more.
