Two CNN anchors just started to disagree with each other, and then they abruptly changed the topic to Biden being introduced by his sons.

What is UP with this coverage?

Maybe it's the in-studio anchor? Every time the conversation goes negative on McCain, she changes the subject. (And there she goes about the podium again.)

This is why I watch only the speeches, and mostly via youtube or cspan.

The whole backdrop-podium thing is interesting: it will be something we can whack them over the head with during the Republican convention, which will almost certainly feature some real neo-fascist elements....

Normally, I watch only the speeches and recaps as well.

I got to thinking, though, that I've spent a fair amount of time sneering a major media outlets and their coverage of events--and a lot of my opinions were formed from reading other people's interpretations of things.

This time, I decided to give the live process a chance--to watch it for myself.

And all I'm hearing about is the STUPID PODIUM. And a ton of discussion of McCain.

My prediction for the Republican convention? A lot of sound and fury, signifying noting, of course. A lot of rah-rah moments, because the rightwing base responds well to that. They'll evoke god a lot and threaten us all with terrorists if we don't vote Republican.
