I Wish I'd Said That

Granted, I've been out of the loop for a while, but I skim from time to time and this could be the best blog entry I've read in the last year. (via Avedon Carol)

Consider what doing nothing costs--or even the $400 billion* million that stopping then starting again costs. (Read to the end of the article, to be very clear on precisely which party is holding people's futures hostage and, not incidentally, making things worse.)

This is one of the reasons why we shouldn't just let Bonehead and Crookface leave office and live on comfortably, without ever facing the consequences of their behavior. This is not a case where we should forgive and forget. They approved and implemented un-American, unConstitutional measures,. We need to make a statement - loudly - that this is not acceptable on any level. Bring them up on charges.

I didn't have to wait for some report to find out that there was "no wealth creation" under the Bonehead/Crookface regime. I've already mentioned that here, right? I haven't gotten a pay raise since about '99, so I lost money every year to cost-of-living increases. And, in the last three years or so, I've had to take actual pay cuts more than once. (But the only debts I've run up were the credit card balances I accumulated when unemployed.)

* Wow. Expensive typo!

It's $400 million, but it's still an awful lot of wasted money.

Thanks for linking to the Brad Hicks post, Anne. I agree with you completely about it. Very well done.

Thanks, Ahistoricality. I fixed the typo.

It was interesting, wasn't it, Elayne? I was really fascinated.
