Comments: Early morning questions

Maybe I'm overly sensitive, but the SEAL parachute story bothers me. Why is someone who clearly recognizes the tactical necessity of secret access blaring out a warning about what is apparently a highly successful tactic? Could this result in changes in how unfriendly governments treat commercial airliners, perhaps more intense monitoring, not to mention the danger of itchy trigger fingers.... Anyone remember KAL 007?

Well, I'm glad you said that.

I wrote three paragraphs on the subject and then deleted it, thinking that maybe I didn't understand the topic and was just imagining that it wasn't the sort of capability we wanted to have widely known or that would add to the safety of commercial airline travel for civilians.
