Comments: Disgusting

Eventually, saying anything bad about the dear departed will be a federal felony....

I'm surprised, though, because the "protesters" are actually exercising their rights under freedom of religion and they're "good Christians" so I'd expect the Republicans to be more quietly in favor of them. [Really, I know lots and lots of really nice Christians who despise this crew as much as I]

Seriously, though, this "national honor" thing is getting to be a serious drag on free speech: don't be surprised if someone tries to slip a flag-burning clause in there.

Free speech means sometimes hearing things you don't want to hear. In places where you don't want to hear it.

Yeah, Phelps and his ilk are disgusting, sick, immoral, hate-mongers. Sadly, that isn't illegal in this country. Nor, although it really causes me pain to say this, nor should it be.

It's a boil. It has to be lanced. You can't just hide it. All legislation does is just put a bandaid on the infection.

(Where was the law when this man was destroying the lives of his children this way? No one wanted to take on his hate-mongering when it was just him warping his kids and yelling about the homos, did they? Now suddenly it's a problem though.

Child abuse isn't enough to inspire anyone to act, but all of a sudden he's taken his anti-homo road trip into the space of real Americans, and now we're all anxious to distance ourselves from him?)
