Comments: Sanctified Intolerance

When you go into one of the local schools in my area you have to navigate around the "prayer circles" at the entrances.

Cars and commercial signs are weighed down with "fish" outlines and there's a "Christian business directory".

You can't hold a public meeting without at least a "moment of silence".

The local Christian radio interferes with the local PBS station, but the FCC won't make them fix the problem with their transmitter.

You have to put up with Christian protesters all over the place because someone doesn't like something a corporation is doing. Picketing a toy store at Christmas because they carry a certain doll, is way over the top.

If they want to know about religious persecution, they might want to talk to the wife of a Wiccan who was killed in Iraq and wants the Wiccan pentangle on his headstone in Arlington.

Anyone who feel entitled to assume that a lack of preferential treatment is "persecution" needs to spend a little more time looking at reality.

There are a lot of people in the world who could educate them differently.
