Comments: Nope, it's no good

I've heard great things about Alaska summer cruises.... we're finally going to take an actual vacation this summer, over to the big city (Honolulu) instead of a "family visit with side trips" which is what we've always done in the past.

Have fun on the cruise! Alas, this country's problems are almost guaranteed to still be around when you return. But do refresh yourself; in these times if you don't step back now and again and just breathe or have a good time, you get horrid burnout and that does nobody any service...

Jonathan - From what I've heard, you takes your chances with Alaska. Either it will be glorious, or it will pour buckets of rain down on you constantly. Either way (with near-100-degree temperatures here in Denver), I plan to have a good time!

Good luck on your own vacation and congratulations for taking the time to go and see things. I, we all I think, spend a lot of my vacation time visiting "family" which is nice in many ways, but doesn't really provide the same break from reality and the same relaxation as a vacation-vacation.

I've been 'breathing' for several weeks now, Elayne, with no noticeable improvement in my attitude toward our gov'mint. I'm just...sick of it all.

I think it's the part about how we're not who I've been pretending we were all my life. I'm having a little trouble getting past that.

So...summer break!
