Okay, so maybe I'm missing something in your currect job that is compelling you to stay. Don't you want to move? Doesn't this man drive you nuts? I'm SO confused.
Posted by L-i-K-S at February 20, 2007 08:53 PMI'm so confused that I can't even spell "current." ;-)
Posted by L-i-K-S at February 20, 2007 08:54 PMI think you could treat this job as an "offer" rather than as the "default" ... but it does give you the freedom to look slowly instead of as a crisis.
Who knows: another six months and you might actually have the place running smoothly in spite of them....
Posted by Jonathan Dresner at February 20, 2007 10:56 PMYeah, okay, Bernie's kind of a nut. :) He's not as borderline-psycho as he sounds in my posts, but he wigs out from time to time and he's kind of neurotic and twitchy.
On the other hand, it's very flattering when employers don't want to lose you, you know?
On the negative side--commuting to Boulder 2 or 3 days a week would be horrible. Also? He has not yet mentioned money.
On the positive side--well, he wants me to stay and I'm worried about the job market. :) Say what you will about his lunacy, and I could say plenty*, I'm very accustomed to working for small companies where I have lots of flexibility around hours and tasks and I like that atmosphere.

* But he's not as big of a lunatic as we was before I started beating him into sanity! :D
