Maybe they're trying to push you into being the one to leave so you can't get unemployment?

I'm with Dail - they are trying to avoid paying you unemployment and a severance. Bad move on their part since they just laid off all those other people. I don't like them.

Ditto. It is inhuman behavior: they're acting like a corporation.

Or, they've decided they made a mistake, laying off all the people with any actual marketing knowledge, and they have some misguided perception that keeping me will help fill the gap?

Any of these could be true. I'm not going to let them keep me here beyond the time I'm ready to go, in any case. Once the Gidget Co is moving along, I'm moving on.
