You buy a lot of goodwill by being able to help someone who's so desperate they're calling up people they thought they'd never have to speak to again.

I've only once been contacted by a former employer: I decided that the guy who'd gotten my job could deal with the year-old incomplete-that-should-have-been-an-F-cause-the-student-was-a-royal-flake all on his own.

Creature From the Black Lagoon and Beast from 20,000 Fathoms were two of my favorite Saturday afternoon monster flicks *g*

I don't know what I'd tell them if the Old Boss called me up. I'm enjoying not having to worry about those things anymore...

Well, I can't blame the users, the way Jonathan blames the students for causing many of their own problems--even though the users are largely at fault. Because, when it's a really small company, the other 'employee' is usually the owner and the person calling in a panic....

Basically, though, I do think that most people could easily do the stuff I do, it they only would. It's been a source of constant frustration for me in my life the way so many people just write stuff off as "hard" without even trying. Almost everything is easy if you just do it.

(Dail? Considering the shenanigans they very nearly pulled during your last year? I'd say you're justified in telling them, "I don't remember how to do that any more.")

I'd forgotten about Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and it has to go on my list. I'm not sure about the Black Lagoon, though. I know it's a 'classic' and all, but it never thrilled me.
