Your cable intarwebz won't let you use a wireless router??? Dump them. Call your phone company, see if they have some cheapy landline/dsl package. I have the same cable company you have in the CA house, and I'm dumping them as soon as I'm living in that house. Satellite for the tv, dsl for the 'net.

Well, in the past they've never allowed it. From what I read online, they might have a set-up now. If what I read is accurate, I'm willing to pay the extra $20/month it will cost.

I complain a lot about how expensive this service is, but I have to admit that it's rock-solid reliable and that's worth something to me.
