Comments: So, what's this all about?

20 years. For the last 12 years of it, Lybia did no terrorism against the US and was completely isolated. All in all, not a bad record. Personally, I'm not depressed about it at all. Far better than the alternatives.

Hmmm. Something about the perfect being the enemy of the good.

We could be doing far better, you know. But since we've pretty much chucked any international cooperation out the door in a fit of pique, well. . . I'm not sure how long it will take us to make up the time/good will/progress/lives lost in this childish act.

Very very few countries have perpetrated acts of terrorism against the USofA in the last 12 years, so Libya's record isn't exactly astounding in that respect.

I guess I'm just worried about more than people not being mean to the USofA.
